Vantage Towers Czech Republic Invests in Solar and Wind

Vantage Towers has taken a major step toward cleaner, more resilient mobile infrastructure with a large-scale solar rollout across the Czech Republic.

The company has now deployed solar systems at more than 400 ground-based tower sites, calling it “one of the largest renewable deployments in the sector.” The on-site energy is used directly at each tower, cutting reliance on the grid, lowering emissions, and improving resilience.

The impact is already clear:

  • 1,100 MWh of clean energy generated each year

  • 449 tons of CO₂ emissions avoided annually

As 5G drives higher power demand across the industry, tower operators are increasingly turning to on-site generation to manage energy costs and reduce grid dependency. Vantage is at the forefront of this shift. Beyond solar, the company is also:

  • Installing 750 micro-wind turbines on towers in Germany

  • Exploring hydrogen and aluminum-air backup systems

  • Deploying solar-battery systems at off-grid sites in Portugal

  • Using PPAs to power 1,400+ towers in Ireland with renewable wind energy

Vantage Towers has committed to 100% renewable energy across its operations and is targeting net-zero by 2040.
