Telecom Castilla-La Mancha expands Partnership with Globalstar
Globalstar has signed definitive agreements with Telecom Castilla-La Mancha (Telecom CLM) to significantly expand the Alcazar Teleport in Castilla-La Mancha, Spain.
During the recent power outages that impacted large parts of Spain and Portugal—and took terrestrial mobile networks offline—Globalstar’s mobile satellite system stayed fully operational, maintaining uninterrupted coverage when it was needed most.
The upgrade will add three new tracking antennas and supporting infrastructure, effectively doubling Globalstar’s footprint at the site.
This expansion forms a key part of Globalstar’s next-generation C-3 System rollout, strengthening the ground infrastructure that supports its Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation. The enhanced teleport will help deliver a new wave of mobile satellite services across Europe, meeting fast-growing demand for reliable, always-on connectivity.
Telecom CLM highlighted the importance of the partnership, noting the rising reliance on satellite networks for safety, tracking, and data continuity. Globalstar’s proven reliability—especially during the recent outages—underscores why resilient satellite systems are becoming essential across industries.
The Alcazar expansion marks another strategic step in Globalstar’s global infrastructure buildout, bringing next-generation mobile satellite connectivity closer to millions across Europe.
