Tait Systems NZ deploys Land Mobile Radio Network in New Zealand
Tait Systems New Zealand (TSNZ) is actively constructing the Land Mobile Radio (LMR) network for the New Zealand Government’s Next Generation Critical Communications Public Safety Network.
Alongside supplying thousands of mission-critical radios to frontline emergency services, TSNZ is delivering one of the largest, most sophisticated shared radio networks in the world.
All radio transmission sites for Wellington and Canterbury are built, with Auckland on track for 2026 completion—together safeguarding 60% of New Zealand's population and work is underway across the remaining eight network regions.
Following testing, regional networks will hand over to emergency services throughout 2026 and 2027 for final validation and progressive operational transition.
Priority is given to co-locating equipment on existing telecommunications infrastructure to minimize footprint; standalone poles and secure enclosures are built where required.
TSNZ will manage and maintain the network post-delivery, ensuring continuous reliability for over 30,000 emergency personnel.
This resilient network architecture ensures emergency services operate on a unified, high-availability platform built to protect both first responders and the communities they serve for decades to come.
